Hi Liz,
We consider this as a Binomial experiment as It is a Discrete random variable.
1 in 88 kids are affected by BSD or A.
in School there are 300 students so
300/88= approx 3 students are affected by BSD or A
Total number of students are 300.
n(total no of students)= 300........eq-1
n(students affected by BSD or A)= 3.....eq-2
n(students are documented as BSD by school)=7..........eq-3
n(students)=n(students having BSD)+n(A)-n(BSD or A)
300=7+n(A)-3
300-4=n(A)=296
so
In a school 300 students, according to above explaination,
we would expect 4 students to have only BSD.
