Question

 When ice float in water, 1/8 of its volume floats above the water level in 7/8 float the need the water level. A block of ice placed into an ice chest causes the water in the chest to rise by 4 cm. The right rectangular chest measures 35  centimeters by 50 cm high. What is the volume of the block of ice?

The volume in the tank increased by (4)(35)(50) cm³, that is 7000 cm³

m represents the mass of the block of ice

7m/8 = 7000 cm³
