Let P=100mg
t=2
A=60mg
A=P*e^kt
60=100*e^2*k
60/100=e^2*k
Taking natural logs on both sides
ln (0.6) = 2k
k= (ln(0.6)/2)
k=-0.5108/2 = -0.2554
Now we know the value of k which is the decay rate
Now we need to find out the time when the process decay to 10 mg
A=P*e^kt
10=100*e^-0.2554*t
Taking natural logs on both sides
ln (10/100)=-0.2554*t
Therefore
t= (-2.3025/-0.2554)
t=9.02 hrs
