Question

There was a large flag with a perimeter of 1460 feet.  The length was 280 feet longer than the width. What we're the dimensions?  

Please help work this problem.

Now to Math:

L = 280 + W

P = 1460

P = 2(L + W)

 

1460 = 2(280+W + W)

730 = 280 + 2W

450 = 2W

W = 225 ft

L = 505 ft
