a cone has a slant hight of 12in & radius of 5in. Find the volume.

Formula for the volume of a cone...

V=(1/3)(3.14)(r²)(h)

We do not have the height.  We have the radius in inches and slant height in inches...

a²+b²=c²

5²+h²=12²

25+h²=144

h²=119

h=11 inches

V=(1/3)(3.14)(5 inches)²(11 inches)

V=(1/3)(3.14)(25 inches²)(11 inches)

V=288 inches³
