3 men rent 1 room for $30/nite. After they check in, the hotel manager sees that there was a $5 discount on that room. So he sends the bell boy back to their room with 5 $1 dollar bills. The bell boy pockets $2.00 & give each renter $1.00 back. So if the 3 men paid $9.00 each = $27.00 plus $2.00 the bell boy took = $29.00.. what happened to the last dollar?

Nothing.  The room costs $25, and $27 - $2 = $25.  It has to sum to $25, not $30.
