asked 11/16/16What is this formula for in the mathematic point of view?
I have derived a formula and I wonder what formula is similar to this one in a mathematical point of view?
F = (X2 - Y2)/ (X - Y )2
Is there any formula that looks like this one and is used to calculate something?
Thanks

What you have is really not a formula, but just an algebraic expression that has been given the name F.
Its numerator is the difference of squares, and if you factor that, then F simplifies to (x-y()x+y) divided by the product (x-y)(x-y). A final simplification yields F = (x-y)/(x+y).
An example of 'legitimate' formulas are formulas for areas of geometric figures, or conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius temperatures, and so forth.

F = (x2-y2)/(x-y)2 = [(x+y)(x-y)]/[(x-y)(x-y)] = (x+y)/(x-y)
I don't believe there is a specific formula that matches this ....
