Make sense and preserve

Question

Vi walks five days each week. She walks the e distance on the first two days. On days three and four, Vi walks half as far as on each of the first two days. On day five, she walks half as far as on day one. If Vi walks 13 miles each week, how far does she walk each day?

I'm going to let x = distance walked on first day (I have an aversion to using e as this symbol). Anyway, the presence of e in the statement of the problem was probably meant to be "same."

 

13 = x + x + (½)x+ (½)x + (½)x   represents the facts given, for the five days listed, in order.

 

SOLVE  for x, then state how far she walked on each of the five distinct days (represented by the terms on right side of above equation).
