A beverage set consists of a mug, a coffee pot bd a serving plate. The mug costs p dollars. The serving plate costs $5 more than the mug. The coffee post costs four times as much as the mug. What is the cost of the serving plate, the coffee pot and the beverage set?

Here's what we know:

s = p + 5 (the serving plate is $5 more than the mug)

c = 4p (the pot is 4 times the mug)

 

So that leaves us with:

p + s + c

now looking like:

p + (p + 5) + 4p

Simplify:

6p + 5

 

Without any known prices or final total for the expression to equal to, that's as far as we can go.
