Multi step problem solving

Myra has some oranges to share among 3 friends. Jennifer gets half and 3 more. Angela gets half the remainder and 3 more. Josie gets half the remainder plus 3. Myra has 10 oranges left. How many did she have at the start?

Hi Alex;
You forgot about the "3 more...3 more...plus 3"
The results cannot be 64, 32 and 16 if Jennifer received half+3, Angelia received half(half+3)+3, and Myra received half of that, plus 3.

The total is 122
"half and 3 more" is 61+3 = 64, leaving 58
next "half and 3 more" is 29+3 = 32, leaving 26
final "half and 3 more) is 13+3 = 16, leaving 10 (as given)

I did not check, but think your equations wound up working on "half of distributed (not left)+3" ... hence your higher answer of 146.

If the total would be 146,
73+3=76, leaving 70
35+3=38, leaving 32
16+3=19, leaving 13 (rather than the 10 given)
