While still in the hospital, the doctor writes an order for an antibiotic at 3mg/kg/day.
You are nervous now because the nurse was wrong before. Assuming that you weigh
123 lb, determine how many milligrams you should be given. Then convert the number
of milligrams to be given to the correct number of grams

you  first need to convert lbs to kilograms

 

123/ 2.2 = 55.91 kgs

 

for 1 kg you are supposed to be given 3 mg

 

thus 

 

55.91*3 = 167.73 mg

 

Now finally divide this by 1000

 

giving you 0.16773g
