This function will not be linear. Let me explain what I mean.
We can factor an x out of both terms:
x(x^3 - 2).
The x^3 - 2 term goes up, pauses at (0,-2), and goes up again. By multiplying this times x, it makes a bowl instead.
A linear term only has a x with a power of 1, not with a higher power.
