This was very helpful, thank you! But, I thought in PEMDAS you multiplied first.

Nasasha, the multiplication and division are done left to right, as are addition and subtraction.
 
For example, 2 ÷ 2 x 4 = 1 x 3 = 3 and not 2 ÷ 8 = 1/4.
 
Also 2 - 2 + 6 = 0 + 6 = 6 and not 2 - 8 = -6.
