Inconsistent equations

The system of equations below is inconsistent
2x - 3y=9
Ax - by=7

Jason L.

(A,B) would have to be a linear combination of (2,3). Easy way would be a = 2 and b = 3.  Then your system would be 2x - 3y = 9 = 7, which would make it inconsistent.

Jane that is asking for the the slope
so if we want the system to have no solution A/B should equal to 2/3
2/3 is the slope of the first equation (line 1)
when a system is not consistent the two lines must be parallel also that means the same slope
