Hi
i am trying to solve the following fraction but having some trouble. The answer i keep getting is (x2)/(2x+4) but the book says something else.

(1)/(x+2)—(1)/(2) / x if taken as correctly stated, the second term is merely ½ ÷ x
so choose common denominator x(x+2) with numerator x - ½(x+2) and then you have
numerator ½x - 1 all over (x2 + 2x), which simplifies to
(x-2) ÷ [2(x2 + 2x]
