Yes, a function can contain ordered pairs that include the same value for both the abscissa (x-value) and ordinate (y-value). This is true for the function f(x)=x for all real numbers: the integer values of the domain will be matched by the same integer value for the range ...(-3,-3), (-2,-2), (-1,-1), (0,0), (1,1), (2,2), (3,3).... For the function f(x)=x2, both (0,0) and (1,1) will be included.
