A hockey season ticket holder pays 72.48 dollars for her tickets plus 6.00 dollars for a program each game. A second person pays 18.08 dollars for a ticket to every game, but doesn't buy programs. In how many games will they have paid the same amount?

Larson, if g = the number of games and we want the amount spent to be equal...

 

72.48 + 6g = 18.08g

         72.48 = 12.08g

                 g = 6
