in a distribution, the number 11 has a z-score of -1 and a standard deviation of 3. what is the value of the data with a z-score of 2?

z = (x-μ)/σ

 

-1 = (11-μ)/3 ⇒ -3 = 11 - μ, so μ = 14.

 

2 = (x-14)/3 ⇒ 6 = x-14, so x = 20; the score is 20 when z = 2.
