f(x) = x² – 4 and g(x) = x – 2

 

(a)   (f+g)(x) = x² + x - 6  i.e. we just added the two expression.

(b)   (f-g)(x) = x² - x - 2   i.e. we just subtracted the g expression from the f expression.

(c)  to get this answer, just multiply (FOIL) the f expression by the g expression.  You can do that!
