MAYBE IT would help to plot the two points on a piece of graph paper, and draw a right triangle, using the distance between the points as the hypotenuse; you can figure out the lengths of the legs. Then use the Pythagorean theorem.
Or, use the Distance Formula found in your Algebra course, for distance between two known points.
