Malakiy, you are given the vertex, and the vertex is (h,k).

 

The equation is y = a(x - h)² + k

 

The value of a tells us a number of things, but since we are given no special instructions, it can be whatever we choose. I'm going to let a = 65, just because I can. x is just x.

 

y = 65(x -(-4))² + 9

y = 65(x + 4)² + 9

 

It's just that easy!
