Hi Saori, I can understand your confusion. I think the easiest way to explain this is to think of a plumbing plunger. The act of thrusting something is meant to "send out", not to pull in. When one plunges into something, the action is to bring two or more objects together, such as a swimmer plunging into a swimming pool. I hope this helps.
