Try plotting the points that you know on a coordinate plane. If the midpoint is at (7,8) then you know that the length of the line segment is twice the length of the line you drew in your coordinate plane. Use the Pythagorean Theorem (a2+b2= c2) to figure out the length of the hypotenuse. You can figure out the length of the base and the height using your coordinate plane and the points you already drew. You can use those points to draw a triangle. Once you find the hypotenuse, you double it to find the length of the whole line.
