On a baseball field, it is 90 feet between bases. Determine the distance from home plate to second base. Then determine if this is the same as the distance from third base to first base.

The baseball infield is a square. Use the Pythagorean Theorem.
You have an isosceles right triangle.
The distance from home to second is the hypotenuse.
H^2=90^2+90^2
H^2=8100=8100
H^2=16,200
√H^2=√16,200
H=127.27922 feet from home to second and the same distance from third to first.
