Televisions are usually advertised by the length of their diagonal. How should a television be advertised if it is 28 inches long and 22 inches wide? Round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Use the Pythagorean theorem; diagonal squared = length squared + width squared.  In this case, d² = 1268 so d = square root of 1268 or 35.6 inches
