PLZ be very careful deciding what mathematical operators are which (since you have both ÷ and /).
You may remember the precedence rules (order of operations) using the P-E-M-D-A-S (Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally) acronym, for
1. Parentheses
2. Exponentiation
3. Multiplication and Division, left to right
4. Addition and Subtraction, left to right
These two expressions are different: 3-3÷1/3+1 and 3 - 3 ÷ (1/3) + 1, so I wrote the caution about considering 1/3 as one-third. Was 1/3 actually written similar to ½, which means "(1/2)" with parentheses?
If the parentheses are not included, then the rules are applied thus:
3 - 3 ÷ 1 / 3 + 1 [division, L->R]
3 - 3 / 3 + 1 [division, L->R]
3 - 1 + 1 [A or S, L->R]
2 + 1 [A or S, L->R]
3
Computer note: You may type 3-3÷1/3+1 directly into the search box on Google or Bing and see 3 as the answer. The inserted parentheses indicated the order that was performed.
