Hi Andrea,
In Confucianism, Junzi "gentleman" or "superior person." Junzi has many characteristics including: ability to live with poverty, doing more and speaking less, and being knowledgeable. Junzi practice obedience, loyalty, and discipline. To Confucius, the junzi sustained the functions of government and social stratification through virtue and ethical values.
Our leaders today, including politicians, policemen, should in fact express excellent moral positions. The concept of Junzi would therefore be good for modern society because it would encourage individuals to improve themselves to become more righteous.
