Wednesday generated $2,130.00 and Saturday generated $3,112.50.  Take the $5242.50, subtract the $982.5, which gives you $4,260.  Divide that by two to get $2,130 for Wednesday, add back the $982.50 to get the $3112.50 for Saturday.   Added together, they come to $5,242.50.

Step One: Create Let Statements

Let x= total earnings from Saturday

Let x-982.50=total earnings from Wednesday

Step Two: Write Equation

Saturday Earnings+Wednesday Earnings=Total Earnings

x+x-982.50=5242.50 Combine like terms

2x=5242.50+982.50

2x=6225

x=3112.5

∴Saturday's game earned $3112.5 while Wednesday's game earned $2130.
