On the factoring of
x3-27   the first thing to recognize is that
this is the difference of two cubes.
27 = 3*3*3 = 33

x3-27 = x3-33
There is a formula for factoring the difference of two cubes:
a3 – b3 = (a – b)(a2 + ab + b2)   In this case a=x, b=3

x3-27 = (x-3)(x2 + 3x + 32) = (x-3)(x2+3x+9)

If you recognize this fact and use the formula you don't need
to do the synthetic or long division.  Just plug into the formula.
