solve a system of quation that represent the situation

Sue Sold tickes for a baseball game.Each adult tickets costs $5 and each student ticket costs $3 the total number of tickets sold was 100 and the total sales were $450.How many of ticket were sold?

Maybe I'm missing something in this but the way the problem is typed, you stated that "the total number of tickets was sold was 100".  That would be how many were sold.  I am either reading this wrong or there is something more to your word problem.
