10) Scientists discovered that the size of the Antarctic Ocean is 20,330,000 Km^2. How big is the Arctic Ocean, if the arctic ocean is 3/4 of the size of the Antarctic ocean?

7. to solve this question, we know that Distance = Rate x Time

to solve for Time = Distance / Rate

 

So, Time = 1.5 x 10¹¹ meters ÷ 3 x 10⁸ meters/second = 0.5 x 10³ seconds or 500 seconds.

When we divide that number by 60 seconds/minute, we get 8.33 minutes.

 

10. it is clear that the Arctic Ocean is smaller than the Antarctic Ocean, so multiply the area of the Antarctic Ocean by 3/4 to get 15,247,500Km²
