You probably already know that the y-intercept is the value of y when x=0. In this equation, is it -6.
The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0
y=3x-6
0=3x-6
Let's add six to both sides as we proceed to isolate x...
0+6=3x-6+6
6=3x
Let's divide both sides by 3...
6/3=3x
2=x
