I cannot comprehend this "thumbs up / thumbs down" system or how it has any relevance.

It is quite an eye-opener to view (without spaces in URL):

I've actually written to Wyzant more than once about modifying the thumbs system so that only the student who has posted the question can give the answer a rating, and only once at that. Tutors rating themselves 'up' while rating fellow tutors 'down' is petty and unprofessional, and giving students the ability to like or dislike one answer ad nauseam can skew a tutor's ratings unfairly.

Thank you for your action on this matter. WyzAnt just answered (with its usual ambiguity) my inquiry.
Why would six people be compelled to vote on this rather simple example?
