The third angle theorem deals only with proving that the third angle is congruent not the actual triangle.
A real way to see this is by making two triangles with the same angles but whose sides are sizeably bigger.
That being said if you also have one side that is congruent along with the third angle theorem then the triangle would be congruent, but you would really be using AAS (angle-angle-side)
