Roads are North-South and East-West in a state. The N-S roads have a speed limit of 55MPH. The E-W roads have a speed limit of 45MPH. So, a car going north at the speed limit has a motion vector north with a velocity of 55MPH. A car going east at the speed limit has a motion vector east with a velocity of 45MPH.
