Hi Tiara, is there an "x" missing from the first equation. If there is no x missing from the first equation, then solving for y gives y = 2.
Substitute for y in the second equation and then solve for x.
3x - 16 = 8
3x = 24
x = 8
Let me know if there is a missing "x" in the first equation.
Solution as is: x = 8, y = 2.
