Triangle ABC has coordinates A(1,4); B(3,-2); and C(4,2). Find the coordinates of the image A'B'C' after a reflection cover the x-axis.

Hi Caitlyn,

 

When something is reflected about the X axis, the X values stay the same and the Y values extend the same distance from the X axis on the opposite side.

 

So the reflected A is at 1, -4

 

The reflected B is at 3, 2

 

The reflected C is at 4, -2

 

Draw this out on a graph paper to see it clearly.
