In 2000,the national radio of students to computers with internet access in public schools was 7:1.Winston school has 623 students.If the school had a lower ratio ,how many computers with internet access did Winston school have?

We set up the problem as   623/c < 7/1

 

Now we can cross-multiply to get   623x1 < 7xc  or  623 = 7c

 

Divide both sides by 7, and we have   89 < c   or  c > 89

 

So c can be any number of computers that is 90 or more, which is answer a.
