Let's begin by determining the number of hours (x) for which both rates are equal. Then we can know that the flat rate will be preferable for any hours greater than (x).
So let's equate both rates and solve for (x):
34.95 = 25 + 0.33x
0.33x = 34.95 - 25
0.33x = 9.95
x = 9.95/0.33
x = 995/33
x = 30 and 5/33 hours (both rates equal)
Therefore, the flat rate will be preferable for 31 hours and above.
