Need help. How do I solve the equation y=5x-2

That equation cannot be 'solved' - it's a relationship between two variables that has an infinite number of possible solutions.  For example, if we say that x = 0, then y = -2, but if we say that x = 1, then y = 3.

 

The set of all possible solutions of the equation forms a straight line, if you plotted them on a graph.
