Your phrasing is mixed up in the last sentence...
However;
Dive 1:
If we dive for 12 minutes at 400 m/minute
we would reach a depth of 12*400 = 4800 meters deep
Dive 2:
If we dove for 5 minutes at 400 m/minute we
reach a depth of 5*400 = 2000 meters
If the 2nd dive was made from the depth of 4800 m
after the end of the first dive, the final depth would be
4800 + 2000 = 6800 meters deep
