24 would be the common denominator here as in problem before.
3/8h + 7/12 = 3/4
9/24h + 14/24 = 18/24
subtract 14/24 from both sides
9/24h + 14/24 - 14/24 = 18/24 - 14/24
9/24h = 4/24
multiply 24/9 on each side
24/9 * 9/24 h = 4/24 * 24/9
simplify
h = 4/9
Plug it back into common denominator equation
9/24(4/9) + 14/24 = 18/24
