1. Take the log of both sides (Doesn't matter what base, as long as all the bases are the same). -> log (4^x) = log (6)
2. Using the logarithmic power rule you get: x*log(4) = log(6)
3. Divide both sides by log(4): x = log(6)/log(4)
4. x ≈ 1.29
