Average is always found by taking the sum of the group and dividing by number of members in the group (answer to question 1). For example, the average of 10 and 20 is 10+20=30 then divide the 30 by number of members (2) and average would be 15.
2. The standard deviation is a little harder. You need to take each of the numbers and square their difference from the average (mean) then add them together to find the variance. For example with the numbers 10 and 20 the variance is 25 + 25 which equals 50. The standard deviation then is the square root of the varience.
