Basically, when you have to simplify, use the collect the bases which are the same then
- if these are being multiplied, add the exponents
- if these are being divided, subtract the exponent in the numerator by the exponent in the denominator
(-8a2 b3)/(-2a5b-4)= (-8)/(-2)(a2 -5)(b3 -(-4))
= (4)(a-3 )(b7)
= 4b7/a3
(−8a2 b3)/(−2a5 b−4 )
= (-8a2-5 b3-(-4))/(-2)
= 4a-3b7
= 4b7/a3
