The area of a circle is πr²

 

πr² = 12.25 cm²

 

r² = 12.25/π cm²

 

r = √(12.25/π)cm

 

r ≅ 1.9747 cm

 

diameter = 2r

 

d = 2(1.9747) = 3.894

 

Round to whatever decimal places you need ....  for 2 decimals

 

r ≅ 1.97 cm   d ≅ 3.89 cm
