During the 2013-2014 baseball season, Mark hit a home run 48 out of 60 times he was at bat. What percentage of Mark's times at bat did he not hit a home run?

This one is simpler than it may first appear. It's asking for the percentage of non-home runs Mark hit. So first, figure out how many times he didn't hit a home run.

 

After you do that, then you need the percentage. You find a percentage by dividing the number of times the outcome you want happened (non-home runs) by the total number of tries (at bats). Then multiply that answer by 100.
