Draw a diagram that represents the house, the squirrel on top of the house, and Jacqui who is standing 40 ft from her house at ground level. If we draw it correctly, we will get a right triangle, with 20 ft and 40 ft as the legs of the triangle. We want the bottom angle.
θ = tan-1(height / distance from house)
θ = tan-1(20 ft / 40 ft)
θ = tan-1(1/2)
θ = 27 degrees
