-3/-4=y-2 I need to figure this out

-3 / -4 is the same as 3/4.

 

then just add 2 back onto both sides.

 

y = 2 3/4.

-3/-4=y-2

 

but, -3/-4=3/4

 

∴3/4=y-2

multiply both the sides by 4  

∴3=4(y-2) 

∴3=4y-8 

writing in a different way, 

 ∴4y-8=3

adding 8 on both the sides

∴4y=3+8 

∴4y=11

dividing both the sides by 4

∴y=11/4=2 3/4 or 2.75  ...answer.
