If she currently has $500 and needs to maintain a balance of $200. It means she cannot spend this $200.

 

she can only spend 

$500-200=$300

 

300/40=7.5weeks

 

 that is for 7 weeks she can withdraw $40, she will have spent $280(7*40)

in the 8th week she can withdraw $20 but not the full $40.
